Doesn't rice cereal bring about a whole new world to your day? It totally changes things. And that is what happens with kids as I am learning. Once you get the hang of something, it changes. :) It is neat though. Nevertheless, Drew is on his 2nd week of rice cereal for breakfast. This week he just started opening his mouth for us, actually wanting it. Instead of us sticking the spoon in his mouth. Basically forcing it inside. Now he's learning what to do. It's so neat to see them discover stuff like that. Seriously, his eyes are this wide the entire time he's eating. LOL
On another note...
Something that really bothers me. Maybe you've noticed it with your babies too. When we pick up Drew from the nursery he will almost always smell like perfume or cologne. Ahhhhh SOOOOO STRONG that I have to give him a bath when we get home or I just can't stand it. Then today when I picked him up at bible study, the lady in the nursery KISSED HIM ON THE CHEEK! Sweet I know, but all I could think of was... "I don't know YOU. Germs, germs, germs. I appreciate you taking care of my son, but now I have to wash his face so I can feel good about kissing him myself." Better if I didn't see it. Am I so paranoid or what? lol
So, Drew just got finished taking a bath! ;)

That pic just cracks me up! He looks like he is really enjoying it! I agree with you that once you get the hang of it, it is time for a change!! I guess that is what keeps us on our toes. :) Next time the lady in the nursery kisses him on the cheek infront of you, you should pull out your "germ juice" (as mom says) and smother it all over his face!!! I think she would get the hint don't you!! HAHAH At least it is a loving lady and not one like I got when dropping of Kaylee- Exact words- "Are you going to be a little stinker like your big brother was"?!?! Maybe I should of put some of my germ juice in her mouth and washed it out! :) HAHAHH Fun times!
LOL. Yes, once you get the hang of things, they change...it's called staying humble...don't want to be too confident in your parenting...LOL!!!
It is funny how smells rub off on our little ones!!! It won't be so bad when he gets a little older because he won't anyone hold him for a solid 2 hours!!! :) Missed seeing ya today, hope it went well!
Amy, you are so like your mother it is scary. I hated when you girls came home smelling like the nursery workers. SICK!! Don't they know that now a days children have allergies to perfumes etc. DUH!!! Should be on the job description: don't wear perfume and don't kiss children on face. Course on the other hand she was nice and it shows that she is fond of him so be thankful for that.
Cute pic of the cereal face. Can't wait to see what he looks like when he eats sweet potatoes or spaghetti. :-) Thanks for the post. Makes us feel closer to him. xoxoxo
I have always felt that way about nursery workers/daycare workers. But it is better than the alternative. I had to take Greyson out of care somewhere b/c the lady smoked!!!! The perfume thing I think you have to let go...but don't hesitate to say something about the kissing. Politely, but just maybe point out that it is flu season after all. She probably thought nothing of kissing him and then the next baby and then the next...and they do get attached to those little guys and treat them like they are their own (which is wonderful).
You're defin. not the only one Amy Jo! However, I just keep reminding myself that the help and the love they give completely outweighs any strong scent they give off or pass on. : )
Sweet, sweet cereal face picture!
i understand your feelings about the nursery workers perfume. John Paul was the one that got the most aggravated about this issue with Sara, now w John William we knew it would happen no matter what, so most Sundays it's bath time after church and even that they still stink!! ugh!!
we almost wanted to tell Olevia to ask the workers to be kind enough to not bathed themselves in their perfume -cologne when they have to work in the nursery:)
we were just not brave enough to say anything
What a cutie! Drew really is so photogenic...I love all his pictures. He is growing up so fast and you can really see his personality coming through in the pictures. Children are the best!
